Career Goals: Mayor of Pomona, Senator of the United States

I tend to hide away from the camera when pictures are taken and often refuse to let someone touch my face because I think people feel great disgust. Feeling better about myself will not only improve on how I view the world but it will also improve how I view myself. For so long this issue of self image has contributed to my stress and emotional breakdown. Also feeling better about myself will impact my future greatly because it will enable me to express myself more freely with my friends and colleagues and I will not have to deal with how I look. It is something that will help me in my future career goals which is becoming a senator, which deals with a lot of public speaking.

My first political goal is to be mayor of my city, Pomona, and improve the access to healthcare, education and safety and reach out to the residents so they can be more involved in their community. Then I would like to work my way up the chain of command and hopefully one day become senator of California. This will allow me to have even more power to help my community. I would like to start by making my fellow future politicians realize the heart and backbone of America, which are the thousand’s of communities spread across our nation, including my own. And for them to understand that we are working for the people not the big corporations or interest groups. I would like to be a type of politician that can influence many legislative decisions and can work to benefit the working American.

If I could do something nice and receive nothing in return I would take charge in leading my community in the most major green movement our city has ever seen. First, I would undertake an educational program that educates my community in the efficient use of green technology such as solar panels, hybrid cars, etc. and also show the importance of recycling the materials we use in our every day lives. I would implement local green jobs, farms and healthy eating habits that can help them feel better about themselves and their community. I have learned from many people in my life that actions count more than words or money.

The advice I would give is “even though things might seem impossible to do or we feel on the verge of collapse, either emotionally, physically or mentally just hang in there because what lies at the end of the tunnel is much more rewarding than not doing anything at all. At times it may seem that you are alone and all your hard work goes unseen but in reality when all is done many people will appreciate and admire you.” This type of advice is what I tell myself everyday and so far it has led me to a much better future.
